Prints for India

Prints for India was a limited-time print sale to raise funds for Goonj’s Rahat-19 program that is running a pan-Indian aid mission for daily wagers, migrant workers and those who are most affected by the Covid-19 lockdown. The platform brought together over 70 photographers from around the world, each of whom donated a photograph of India. Renowned artists were featured alongside emerging talent, spotlighting exceptional artists from India. Some of our favourite contributions were from Cristina de Middel, Matilde Gattoni, Vasantha Yogananthan, Paromita Chatterjee, Ole Witt, Sameer Raichur and Ritaban Ghosh.

Prints for India was founded and curated by four photographers from different parts of the world: Verity Fitzgerald from Cape Town; Guannan Li from Berlin; Samuel Beech from London and Sigga Marrow from Reykjavík, who met in New Delhi in January while attending a Magnum workshop with Martin Parr. We were inspired and motivated by their initiative and got in touch to volunteer our support, in terms of PR, to help raise awareness about the sale, which closed on 22 May 2020.
