Bakula Nayak is a visual artist based in Pittsburgh, with roots in South India. Her work reflects her curiosity for finding beauty in the mundane, and ties together her personal experiences with those of others through layers of vintage paper, such as discarded letters, receipts, and books.

Monsoon Malabar worked on a publicity campaign for Bakula's solo exhibition, I am ok. & other lies I tell, which was held at Blueprint 12, New Delhi from 12 October to 12 November, 2022. The show presented new and previously unseen drawings, paintings, and assemblages by Bakula, alongside a series of cut-out photo collages that looked at beauty, gendered medical practices, and limited access to care.
